Aeromil Pacific is one of the largest privately owned and operated aviation organisations in the region and one of the longest established. Aeromil was established by Steve Padgett in 1980 and nearly 30 years on, has evolved into an impressive company offering a comprehensive range of aviation services.
Steve Padgett had always wanted to fly so he joined the RAAF training corps at an early age. He started flying aircraft when he was sixteen years of age after winning an RAAF scholarship and earned his Commercial Pilots License and Flight Instructors Rating at nineteen, one of the youngest to do so at the time.
Steve quickly realised that, while his passion was flying, he had the flare and tenacity for the business side of aviation. He started his first business offering flying training and then moved quickly into aircraft sales. Over the years he has launched many aviation business ventures and his career now spans more than forty years.
Aeromil Pacific has operated Fixed Base Operations (FBO) in Austin Texas, owned and operated a regional airline in Queensland and was awarded a substantial contract by Singapore Flying College, a division of Singapore Airlines. involving the relocation of their advanced flight training centre and flight simulator from Singapore to the Sunshine Coast Airport and maintenance of its fleet of jet aircraft.
